Mater is named after a “real life” person that the crew met in Charlotte, North Carolina during their research trip. The “Real Mater” then voiced one the RVs on “Redneck Hill” during the opening race sequence.

#84 car that Lighting McQueen passes in the opening race is the Apple Car. 1984 is the year the Apple computer was first released.

The flame pattern on Wingo was inspired by a wild shirt pattern of one of our Technical Directors. Wingo is voiced by Adrian Ochoa who was a Pixar Story Coordinator.
