Thought I’d share this on Threads to and see what the hot takes might be. We updated the Instagram wordmark today, which is more than a decade old and felt dated. We feel the refresh is sharper and more modern, but references the original and has the simplicity and craft that's always made it Instagram.

We’re expanding translations to more languages on Instagram – added Japanese, Korean, French, German, and Italian. You can also now translate both your voice and any on-screen captions in the same reel together, which should make things a lot easier. We’re also rolling out more languages for translations on Facebook, including Bahasa, Indonesian, Arabic, French, Vietnamese, and Thai. More to come soon.

Excited about this launch. I've been really impressed with how quickly the MSL team has been able to improve their first model in such a short amount of time.

Today, we’re launching over 30 new effects in Stories powered by Muse Image, Meta’s first image model. You can transform the lighting in your photos with things like Disposable or Night Flash, use personalized effects like Instagram Charms or Instagram Receipt, or even create your own effect by typing in a prompt. That last part is what I'm most curious to see people experiment with. Check them out and let me know what you think.

We're expanding Instagram for TV to Samsung TVs in the US and testing a few new things: phone-to-TV casting, Stories on TV, and a home for horizontal videos. Eventually we may want to explore support for long-form, episodic content and Live too. One thing we've noticed with Instagram for TV is it's often a shared experience. Friends watch together, swapping recommendations in real time. We'll keep improving to make this easier. If you've tried it out, let me know what else you'd like to see.
